Football Game Preview: Mendon Hornets vs. Climax-Scotts Panthers

The Mendon Hornets will square off against the Climax-Scotts Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mendon's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past St. Philip Catholic Central 62-0. The win was just business as usual for the Hornets, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

Owen Gorham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 141 yards and four scores. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Ryder Gorham, who rushed for 50 yards and one TD.

Mendon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carter Huston and Tristen Wood. Wood got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Climax-Scotts blew past Bellevue, posting a 57-0 victory. The Panthers have beaten the Broncos the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Broncos has come to flipping the script.

Mendon's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Climax-Scotts, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Mendon beat Climax-Scotts 58-50 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
