Basketball Recap: Lake Nona Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lake Nona, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers on Tuesday as they made off with a 65-44 win. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 58-46 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lake Nona had a senior duo take command as Kymani Dixon went 7-for-16 on his way to 18 points and six boards and Brandon Rivera shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dixon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Cary, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and five rebounds.

Lake Nona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Lake Nona's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lake Buena Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Lake Nona won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hagerty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
