Softball Game Preview: Downers Grove South Mustangs vs. Lincoln-Way Central Knights

The Downers Grove South Mustangs will take on the Lincoln-Way Central Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Downers Grove South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Glenbard West hit Downers Grove South with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs fell 7-3 to the Hilltoppers.

Victoria Colorato made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Gabby Ruchniewicz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.

The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Downers Grove South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Both Downers Grove South and Lincoln-Way Central just can't seem to miss. The Mustangs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game.
