Hoggard won the last time they faced Ashley, and Hunter McGrath did his part to make sure it happened again. The Hoggard Vikings took down the Ashley Screaming Eagle 75-58 on Friday thanks in part to McGrath, who went 10 for 16 en route to 24 points and four steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Will Seward was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last nine games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Ashley lost, don't look at Nate Jarrell. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keyon Jones, who scored eight points and six boards.

Hoggard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Ashley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Coming up, Hoggard will square off against South Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoggard is facing South Brunswick at the right time seeing as South Brunswick is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Ashley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Topsail at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Topsail likes a good challenge.
