Softball Recap: East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Anahuac Panthers
East Chambers came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Anahuac Panthers by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The Buccaneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Isabella Quave put in work no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Quave wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marley Morgan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
This is the second loss in a row for East Chambers and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1. As for Anahuac, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2-2.
Looking ahead, East Chambers will take on Hardin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anahuac, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Anahuac Panthers face off against Buna Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
