Volleyball Game Preview: Stillwater Warriors vs. Mechanicville Red Raiders

Stillwater is 8-2 against Mechanicville since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Red Raiders at 4:15 p.m. Stillwater will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, Stillwater made easy work of Emma Willard and carried off a 3-0 win.

Stillwater not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Emma Willard between 14 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-14.

Stillwater's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lila Norris, who had 28 assists and four aces. With that strong performance, Norris is now averaging an impressive 13.4 assists per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Andie Luskin, who had 14 kills and two aces.

Meanwhile, Mechanicville came up short against Stillwater on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Red Raiders haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-14.

Stillwater's win bumped their record up to 6-2-3. As for Mechanicville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.

Stillwater took their victory against Mechanicville when the teams last played on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
