Basketball Recap: Polytech Comes Up Short at Home Against Tatnall

Polytech unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 63-51 to the Tatnall Hornets on Thursday. The Panthers lost against the Hornets in their previous head to head back in March of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-23 score last time.

Despite the loss, Polytech had strong showings from Saniya McCray, who posted 21 points and three steals, and Sierra Henry, who earned 12 points in addition to six assists and four steals. McCray is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Milan Hinnant, who put up four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.

Polytech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-18 victory against DuPont on the 6th. As for Tatnall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-48 defeat against St. Mark's on the 6th.
