Recap: Anson Bearcats vs. Parkwood Wolf Pack
After flying high against the Central Academy Cougars last Friday, the Anson Bearcats came back down to earth. Anson took a 74-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parkwood on Thursday. Anson has not had much luck with Parkwood recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Anson had strong showings from Jayden Little, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Ryan Robinson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 33.8% of Anson's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqualin Liles, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Anson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Parkwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Anson will head out on the road to face off against West Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkwood, they will be playing at home against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
