Volleyball Recap: Emery Starts off Right with Win over South Sevier

Emery gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the South Sevier Rams 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Spartans have posted against the Rams since August 25, 2020.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 28-26, 25-23.

Lizzy Roberts paced Emery's offense, picking up ten kills. Roberts were helped by Morgan Tuttle and Hailee Barnett, who contributed 12 assists each. Roberts was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

South Sevier's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Emery has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Delta on the 14th. As for South Sevier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Enterprise on the 19th.
