Volleyball Recap: Emery Starts off Right with Win over South Sevier

Emery gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the South Sevier Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Spartans have posted against the Rams since August 25, 2020.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 28-26, 25-23.

Lizzy Roberts paced Emery's offense, picking up ten kills. Roberts were helped by Morgan Tuttle and Hailee Barnett, who contributed 12 assists each. Roberts was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

South Sevier's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Emery is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Delta at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Sevier, they will square off against Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
