Basketball Game Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. Pacific Grove Breakers

The Alisal Trojans will square off against the Pacific Grove Breakers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pacific Grove will be up against a hot Alisal squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Alisal walked away with a 74-61 victory over Palma on Monday.

It was another big night for Misael Palafox, who posted 16 points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Pacific Grove came up short against Monterey on Monday and fell 66-57. While losing is never fun, the Breakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while the Dores are ranked 248th).

Alisal will need focus on slowing down Andrew Nimri, one of several Pacific Grove players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9 for 17 on his way to 24 points and six boards. The match was Nimri's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Valencia, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Alisal is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Pacific Grove, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
