David Anderson came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Leetonia Bears as they made off with a 14-1 victory. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Brady Carpenter was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Devin Kelly was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. He has become a key player for David Anderson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

David Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

David Anderson pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Leetonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Anderson will face off against Beaver Local at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leetonia, they will square off against Chaney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
