Softball Recap: Perquimans Pirates vs. East Bladen Eagles

Perquimans had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the East Bladen Eagles on Friday. Perquimans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Addisyn Stallings looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Perquimans let Morgan Baccus and Elizabeth Gregory loose on the outfield. Baccus scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Gregory went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydee Hunter, who went 1-for-4 with a home run.

On East Bladen's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Niyah Wooten, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Perquimans pushed their record up to 20-8 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for East Bladen, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
