Basketball Recap: Ravenna Comes Up Short

Ravenna lost against Roosevelt back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ravenna Ravens were dealt a 60-33 loss at the hands of the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The game marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Roosevelt was led to victory by Jaden Dennison and Gavin Peeps. Dennison went 7 of 12 en route to 23 points, while Peeps went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Dennison is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Slocum, who posted eight points.

Ravenna dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Ravenna wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-44 loss against Crestwood on the 30th. As for Roosevelt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-42 defeat against Cuyahoga Falls on the 3rd.
