Softball Game Preview: Arcadia Redskins vs. North Baltimore Tigers

The Arcadia Redskins will take on the North Baltimore Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Arcadia's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Vanlue as they made off with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Alanna Tucker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Arcadia got a massive performance out of Allyson McCartney, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs McCartney has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kateland Keefe, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Arcadia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vanlue only posted an OBP of .167.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, North Baltimore's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waynesfield-Goshen.

North Baltimore's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Arcadia, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Everything went Arcadia's way against North Baltimore when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Arcadia made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Redskins repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
