Volleyball Recap: Bel Air Takes a Loss

Bel Air lost against Canutillo back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Highlanders fell 3-1 to the Eagles.

Despite the defeat, Bel Air saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hailey Morales had ten digs and two assists.

Leading Canutillo to victory were Sophia Ontiveros and Hailey Pedregon. Ontiveros had 12 digs and five aces, while Pedregon had 28 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Pedregon is now averaging an impressive 10.7 digs per game.

Bel Air's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Canutillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Bel Air has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Riverside on the 2nd. As for Canutillo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Burges on the 30th.
