Recap: Sarasota Sailors vs. IMG Academy Blue Ascenders
In what's become a running theme this season, the Sarasota Sailors gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They breezed by IMG Academy Blue on the road to the tune of 70-38. Given Sarasota's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while IMG Academy Blue is ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sarasota was led to victory by Paisley Binswanger and Sofi Miller. Binswanger scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Miller dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy McClain, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for IMG Academy Blue, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Sarasota will head out on the road to take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Southeast has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Sarasota will arrive with three straight victories. As for IMG Academy Blue, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Seminole at 3:00 p.m. Hopefully Seminole focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday.
