Basketball Recap: North East Comes Up Short

After flying high against General McLane last Tuesday, North East came back down to earth. The North East Grape Pickers were dealt a 79-48 defeat at the hands of the Girard Yellowjackets on Friday. The Grape Pickers haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

North East's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Girard, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North East will take on Iroquois at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Girard, they will challenge McDowell at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in McDowell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
