Softball Game Preview: Laguna Hills Hawks vs. Crean Lutheran Saints

The Laguna Hills Hawks will head out to square off against the Crean Lutheran Saints at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Laguna Hills is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Laguna Hills saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They fell just short of Castaic by a score of 8-7. Even though they lost, the Hawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Kennedy Patterson and Tabitha Kim did some serious damage despite the final result: Patterson scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Kim scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Patterson also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Patterson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Crean Lutheran entered their contest against Northwood on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Crean Lutheran lost 14-6 to Northwood. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crean Lutheran suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-6. As for Laguna Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Laguna Hills suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Crean Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Laguna Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
