Springfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Pine Raiders. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Will Sanders was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Springfield is 4-2 when Sanders posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Lirette, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Sanders wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Springfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Springfield is a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
