Volleyball Recap: Padua Franciscan Bruins vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles
Padua Franciscan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Bishop Watterson Eagles. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2020.
Padua Franciscan's offense was headlined by Amber Zver and Sophia Sidon, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Kacy Borowy and her eight assists.
Leading Bishop Watterson to victory were Ava Picken and Olivia Lane. Picken had six digs and two aces, while Lane had three aces. That's the most aces Lane has posted since back in October of 2024.
Padua Franciscan's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bishop Watterson, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.
Padua Franciscan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against St. Joseph Academy on the 26th. As for Bishop Watterson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Olentangy Berlin on the 26th.
