Basketball Recap: Teays Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pickerington Central, Teays Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Logan Chieftains with a sharp 53-32 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Logan still got an impressive performance from Makenzie Daubenmire, who posted 14 points and eight boards. That was a full 43.8% of Logan's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Sigler, who scored seven points and three steals.

Teays Valley's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Logan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teays Valley will square off against Bloom-Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Teays Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Logan has already played their next game (against Newark), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
