Basketball Recap: Juliana Davis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Decatur

There's no place like home for Madison, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the South Decatur Cougars by a score of 50-37 on Thursday. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Cougars are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juliana Davis, who posted 17 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Davis' morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addison Roark, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 16 points.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for South Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-43 victory against North Decatur on the 27th. South Decatur has also already played their next contest, a 47-30 defeat against Paoli on the 27th.
