Soccer Game Preview: Catalina vs. Palo Verde

The Catalina Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Palo Verde Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catalina's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Catalina fell victim to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Palo Verde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to Thatcher. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd).

Catalina's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Palo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Catalina suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Palo Verde in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Catalina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
