Baseball Recap: Saint Francis Catholic's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Saint Francis Catholic dropped their record down to 21-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Orangewood Christian Rams, falling 7-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Saint Francis Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Kuruppacherry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Orangewood Christian, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Orangewood Christian's side, the result came thanks to Aiden Balls's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. Balls has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addison Lambert was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Grayson Hilinski was another key player, earning one run and four stolen bases.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Orangewood Christian beat Saint Francis Catholic by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday.
