Soccer Recap: Musselman Comes Up Short

Musselman lost against Washington back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Applemen came up short against the Patriots, falling 7-2. Musselman were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-0.

Ashlynn Simmons and Sydney Paxman scored both of Musselman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Musselman and nudges their season record down to 4-9-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1-2 Hedgesville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 87.1% over those games). As for Washington, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1-2.

Coming up, Musselman will head out to square off against Spring Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Musselman will be up against Spring Mills' rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Washington, they will host Hedgesville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington will need to watch out since Hedgesville have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches.
