Softball Game Preview: Clinton Red Devils vs. Chesnee Eagles

The Clinton Red Devils will face off against the Chesnee Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Clinton 2.8, Chesnee 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Clinton earned an 8-3 win over Buford.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chesnee had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Knights a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chesnee, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.
