Baseball Recap: Central Noble Comes Up Short

Central Noble and Lakeland squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Central Noble had to settle for second. They lost 11-5 to the Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in May.

Landen Burkhart made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Central Noble: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Caden Douglas was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

The defeat snapped Central Noble's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-12 record. As for Lakeland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Central Noble does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeland, they have already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Hebron on the 6th.
