Softball Recap: Flat Rock Triumphs

After losing to Milan the last time they met, Flat Rock decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams came out on top against the Big Reds by a score of 11-7 on Tuesday.

Vanessa Neace made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sarah Giroux, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025. Zoe Ryan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Flat Rock's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Milan, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Flat Rock will square off against rival Riverview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Milan is set to take on their familiar foe Grosse Ile at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
