Meanwhile, Quartz Hill won against Palmdale on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Royals didn't even let Knight on the board, marking the Royals' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won 12 games in a row.
Quartz Hill also got a great performance from Dakota Ponder as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nina Sepulveda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Emily Cowan, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Quartz Hill pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Temescal Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Temescal Canyon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game.
