Volleyball Recap: Campbell County Camels vs. East Thunderbirds
Campbell County was the 3-0 winner over East when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Campbell County Camels fell just short of the East Thunderbirds by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Camels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Campbell County took East into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 21-19.
Even though they lost, Campbell County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in November of 2023.
Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for East, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Campbell County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South at 12:00 p.m. on September 28th. As for East, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
