Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meeker). Everything went their way against the Olathe Pirates on Friday as the Meeker Cowboys made off with a 78-52 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meeker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Said Rodriguez, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Those 16 points gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Sanders, who posted 17 points.

When it comes to explaining why Olathe lost, don't look at Isaiah Gordon. Despite the final result, he earned 28 points and three steals. That was a full 53.8% of Olathe's points, marking the 12th time in a row Gordon has had more than a third of the team's points. Wyatt Patterson was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven boards and six blocks.

Meeker's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Olathe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Meeker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-55 defeat against North Fork on the 22nd. Olathe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
