Football Recap: Palatka Comes Up Short

Palatka was the 33-26 winner over Baldwin when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 31-14 bruising from the Indians on Friday.

Baldwin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nashawn Jacobs out in front who rushed for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Jacobs a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another signal caller making a difference was Stephen Screws, who threw for 167 yards and two TDs.

Palatka's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Baldwin, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Palatka will head out on the road to challenge Providence School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baldwin, they will welcome KIPP Bold City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
