Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Sabers vs. Catholic Memorial Crusaders

The Franklin Sabers and the Catholic Memorial Crusaders will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Franklin managed to keep up with Oak Creek until halftime last Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Franklin was dealt a 63-34 defeat at the hands of Oak Creek. The game marked the Sabers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Madeline Lemke put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted ten points. Lily McCreary was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Catholic Memorial waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They wrapped up 2024 with a 79-63 victory over Milwaukee Academy of Science. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Catholic Memorial's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
