Preview: Hannah-Pamplico Raiders vs. Lake City Panthers
The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Lake City Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Hannah-Pamplico is ranked 139th, while Lake City is ranked 141st).
Last Tuesday, Hannah-Pamplico didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Aynor, but they still walked away with a 31-26 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hannah-Pamplico.
Hannah-Pamplico's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Hanna, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Eaddy, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Lake City struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Lee Central had 1300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lake City fell just short of Lee Central by a score of 55-52. Lake City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blayne Edwards put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dallas Davis, who scored 16 points along with 4 steals.
Hannah-Pamplico's victory bumped their season record to 2-2 while Aynor's defeat dropped theirs to 1-3.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Hannah-Pamplico have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 31.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Lake City struggles in that department as they've made 40.6% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Hannah-Pamplico didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lake City in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lake City's Qualiek Washington, who scored 22 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Hannah-Pamplico to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
