Spring Valley is 8-0 against Riverside since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Spring Valley Timberwolves will face off against the Riverside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spring Valley has four straight victories, Riverside has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Spring Valley earned a 53-41 win over Parkersburg South. Given the Timberwolves 's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Patriots are ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Riverside played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against George Washington, falling 84-29. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-12.

Spring Valley will have to keep a close watch on Cianna Groom and Jada Ward, a pair of players who had a big impact on Riverside's prior game. Groom posted ten points, while Ward scored two points.

Spring Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Spring Valley took their win against Riverside in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 67-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
