Softball Recap: Opp Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dale County, Opp was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Cottonwood Bears get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Crislyn Birge, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last seven games. Another player making a difference was Emmalee Wyatt, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Opp's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Cottonwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Opp has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 loss against Wicksburg on the 14th. As for Cottonwood, they will square off against Samson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
