Baseball Recap: Sidney Gets the Win

Sidney hadn't beaten Bainbridge-Guilford on the road since May 3, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Team walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bobcats. For the Team, this counts as revenge for the 14-4 win the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jaxen Swain was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Finch, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Sidney has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Sidney didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-3 win against Dryden on the 3rd. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, they will head out on the road to challenge Deposit-Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
