Softball Recap: Piketon Gets the Win

Piketon gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southeastern Panthers, sneaking past 5-4. The Redstreaks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Saydi Childers looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aubrey Heath was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jaylin Forbes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Piketon's record now sits at 15-2. As for Southeastern, they moved to 8-11 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piketon will challenge Westfall at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeastern, they will take on Unioto at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Shermans have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
