Softball Recap: Big Walnut Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Big Walnut won the last time they faced Westerville North and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Sarah Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Big Walnut's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Holmes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Big Walnut hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Big Walnut's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Westerville North, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11.

Coincidentally, Big Walnut and Westerville North will both be playing Dublin Scioto the next time they take the field. The Golden Eagles will host the Irish at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
