Basketball Recap: TERRA Environmental Victorious

TERRA Environmental's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 65-52 win over the Mourning Sharks.

TERRA Environmental had a senior duo take command as Nick Merlo dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds and Mateo Baron posted 23 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Baron has scored at least a third of TERRA Environmental's points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Cabello, who put up eight points and eight steals.

TERRA Environmental smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Mourning lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Omari Meda, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Meda is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Pablo Rivas was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven steals.

The victory got TERRA Environmental back to even at 4-4. As for Mourning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

TERRA Environmental wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-45 win against Jackson on the 28th. As for Mourning, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-71 loss against Goleman on the 28th.
