Basketball Game Preview: Revere Minutemen vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

Revere and Roosevelt are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Revere Minutemen will take on the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Revere came up short against Shaker Heights and fell 66-57. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Streetsboro. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Rockets are ranked 192nd).

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Revere, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

Revere beat Roosevelt 62-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Roosevelt's Gavin Peeps, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Revere still be able to contain Peeps? There's only one way to find out.
