Hanover never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Varina Blue Devils 14-0. Considering the Hawks have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashleigh Barnette was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barnette was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Hanover let Kylie Towner and Kaycee Doughty run wild. Towner got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one double, while Doughty went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Brie Wheeler also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Hanover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.
