Basketball Recap: Ridgevue Wins High-Profile Game Against Rigby

On Thursday, Ridgevue faced Rigby in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ridgevue Warhawks walked away with a 68-61 victory over the Rigby Trojans. The win was familiar territory for the Warhawks who have now won three matchups in a row.

Ridgevue got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaimana Nielson out in front who posted 21 points. Nielson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Tiddens, who put up 21 points.

Ridgevue's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Rigby, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Ridgevue won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rigby, they and Centennial will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Centennial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 75.1 points per game this season.
