Football Game Preview: Compass Academy Cougars vs. Crane Cranes

Compass Academy hasn't had much luck against Crane recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Crane will be up against a hot Compass Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars took their game last Thursday with ease, bagging a 52-3 victory over Alpine. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Compass Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Valois Terecero led the charge by rushing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Smart, who rushed for 63 yards and two scores on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, Crane got themselves on the board against Anthony last Friday, but Anthony never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 54-0. The Cranes haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Crane now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Compass Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Compass Academy beat Crane 13-6 when the teams last played back in September. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cranes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
