It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Walker Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers, sneaking past 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Walker Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-18 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they moved to 20-10-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
