Baseball Recap: Terra Nova Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Terra Nova was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the San Mateo Bearcats by a score of 6-2. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 win the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Aiden James spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Luke Ornelas was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Joey Donati was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Terra Nova was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Terra Nova's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for San Mateo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
