Basketball Recap: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. Chatham Central Bears

Jordan-Matthews lost against Chatham Central last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Jordan-Matthews Jets were dealt a 75-42 defeat at the hands of the Chatham Central Bears. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Bears are ranked 180th).

Reid Albright was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds for Chatham Central. Albright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 44 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brennen Oldham, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Jordan-Matthews has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Chatham Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Jordan-Matthews does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chatham Central, they and Southeast Alamance will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
