Softball Recap: Payson Lions vs. Ridgeline Riverhawks
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Payson couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Ridgeline Riverhawks on Wednesday, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.
Lexie Harmer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of London Armstrong, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Payson and nudges their season record down to 22-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 30-2 Bear River (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 76.9% over those games). As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-14 record this season.
