Melba and Cole Valley Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Melba Mustangs are on the road again on Friday to play the Cole Valley Christian Chargers at 5:00 p.m.

Melba will head into Wednesday's matchup ready to turn things around: they lost a close one when they played on Monday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They lost 15-1 to Marsing. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Melba has scored all season.

Analise Robson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run.

Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Trojans onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's two games straight that Cole Valley Christian has won by exactly five runs.

Not much got past Karlie Barnum, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Nampa Christian off the board. Barnum has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Cole Valley Christian let Abbie English and Lola Crosby loose on the outfield. English went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and a triple, while Crosby went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Addison Herbeck was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Melba dropped their record down to 10-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Cole Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season.
