Basketball Recap: Mt. Clemens Takes a Loss

Mt. Clemens lost against University Prep back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers took a blow against the University Prep Panthers, falling 71-41. The Battling Bathers were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Several Battling Bathers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. That was a full 36.6% of Mt. Clemens' points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Pelione, who earned 14 points.

Mt. Clemens now has a losing record at 1-2. As for University Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Mt. Clemens will square off against South Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for University Prep, they will face off against Chandler Park Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
